CAPTITOL CONSPIRACY documents daily urban fashion news from all corners of the globe.

Based in the UK, we look not only at the latest trends and product releases from around the world but at what’s going on between these four shores.

From a news perspective, UK-based urban fashion brands are often under-represented.

CAPTIOL CONSPIRACY pays special attention to the UK and documents news and new releases from brands that can otherwise go unnoticed.

miadidas - get custimising

Nike iD has certainly dragged sneaker personalisation to a mainstream level but less people are aware that Adidas have their own rival creation, miadidas. Miadidas works on the same simple principle as Nike iD - choose a classic Adidas model template & get custimising!
The US version of miadidas has a whole ton of classic models, both from Adidas Sport & Adidas Originals, however miadidas UK has a lot less to choose from & critically no Originals...
Until miadidas expands its UK offering we suggest you go check out the US site particularly as they've just added a personal Capitol Conspiracy fave the Gazelle...syke!

Adidas Originals Marathon 80

With Adidas Originals now in full-swing, their latest footwear addition is a throw-back to the 'casuals' heyday of the early 1980s. The Marathon 80 is a re-issue of the classic Marathon & is available in its orginal electric blue & yellow colourway with bevelled sole & suede/nylon upper. If tearing up terraces in classic clobber is your thing then what are you waiting for...go get a pair of these bad-boys!!!
You'll also find them in three alternative colourways of orange/white, grey/black & yellow-blue at Size? & in their original guise at JD Sports.

Nike & world famous cyclist Lance Armstrong formally launched the Stages Project this month at an exclusive event in Los Angeles. The Stages Project is a world-wide art exhibition & exclusive sale set up to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation & its LIVESTRONG global cancer campaign.

"Stages' brings together more than 20 of the world’s most creative and diverse artists to create original works of art inspired by Armstrong and his mission to raise awareness of the global cancer burden."

Scheduled to drop this summer as part of The Stages Project is the 'Hope Rides Again' apparel and footwear collection and footwear 'Greatest Hits' pack. We at Capitol Conspiracy for one thing cannot wait to get our hands on the footwear collection...

1948 - Shoreditch

Capitol Conspiracy paid its first visit today to the newly re-opened Nike Sportswear store 1948 situated just off Shoreditch High St, London.
According to Nike the store, which is also a gallery space, "is the best place to check out the new NSW Collection as well as ‘Tier Zero' products."
In essence 1948 is part retail outlet, part creative playground & plans to host regular events & projects as of this summer.
Go check it out & look out on Capitol Conspiracy for news of these events/projects in the coming months.

A True Pioneer...

As a first post I wanted to show a short film on the inspiration behind the Nike Air Max 87 & its pioneering designer Tinker Hatfield. The launch of Nike Air Max 87 or Air Max 1 proved pivotal in the shift in sneaker design in the late 80s & the direction Nike design took there after. The Air Max 1 is as relevant today as it was back then capturing the imagination of many a sneaker head. This then radical design concept I believe paved the way for more radical design concepts & the birth of the street wear industry as we know it today. Enjoy.
